Brenda S. Blake - CEO + Financial Architect

Brenda Blake, CEO and Financial Architect, graduated with highest honors from The University of Texas at Arlington and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Brenda began her professional career with KPMG. After leaving the public accounting arena, Brenda spent a substantial part of her career working as CFO for McCaslin Development, an institutional quality developer of both residential and commercial properties in the southwest United States. In this capacity, Brenda was responsible for financial analysis, investor/lender relations, and asset management of a $100 million dollar portfolio. Her project involvement spanned from the pursuit analysis phase through the development, leasing, stabilization and sale phases; overseeing completion of due diligence, entity formation, and the closing for both the acquisition and disposition of each property. Additionally, Brenda was responsible for the asset management as well as serving as liaison between owners, general contractors, and on-site property management.

Immediately prior to forming B & J Financial Services, Brenda was CFO for a Crow Finance and Realty, a boutique commercial mortgage brokerage firm, where--in addition to traditional CFO functions--she also was involved in sourcing debt and equity financing for developers and real estate investors nationwide. She analyzed data, created financial/economic models, packaged deals to source capital market needs, and coordinated all deal closings.

In 2009, she formed B & J Financial Services to provide fractional CFO, strategic planning and financial/economic modeling services for small to mid-sized real estate companies and private CFO services for their entrepreneurial owners.  B&J brings substantial breadth and depth of services that offers great scalability while lessening the overhead burden for its clients.

Brenda is also a nationally recognized author and has received several professional awards and honors. These include: the Accounting Excellence Award (TSCPA Foundation), the CPA of the Year Award (TSCPA Fort Worth Chapter), the Future Vision Award (CREW -Commercial Real Estate Women) and, most recently, CREW’s prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award.

Brenda is an active member of her church and CREW Dallas. Ms. Blake is also a member of TREC (The Real Estate Council).  She has two children and three grandchildren.
